March 8 - U.S. teen apparel retailer American Eagle Outfitters Inc is scouting for a new chief executive as the incumbent James O'Donnell is said to be retiring, the Wall Street Journal said, citing people familiar with the matter.

O'Donnell has been the chief executive of the retailer since 2003.

Chairman Jay Schottenstein is heading the board's search to find a new chief executive, the Journal said.

American Eagle's spokeswoman declined to comment to the paper. The company was not immediately available for comment outside regular U.S. business hours.
