Alberta Ferretti appoints artistic director at Philosophy

Alberta Ferretti has announced the arrival of Natalie Ratabesi as artistic director at the label’s contemporary brand Philosophy. Ratabesi was formally senior creative director at Ralph Lauren. “It's an honour for me to accept this opportunity I was given,” said Ratabesi, who studied at Central Saint Martins. “I have always marveled at Alberta Ferretti's enduring aesthetic, her clean and contemporary elegance, and it is my desire to project Philosophy's unique, timeless style and effortless femininity, which have always distinguished the brand, into the future.” More affordable and contemporary than Alberta Ferretti, who shows at Milan Fashion Week, Philosophy has a spot in the New York calendar and a flagship store in Paris.

“I felt that the time had come to give Philosophy a more independent and autonomous vision, allowing me to dedicate myself entirely to the Alberta Ferretti collection and other related projects," Ferretti explained. Ratabesi’s first collection for Philosophy will be AW 13/14.
