It’s the first and only Aeronautica Militare store in the UK and it opens in Edinburgh’s St James Quarter on 23 April.

Aeronautica Militare

The official retail partner of the Italian Air Force, its clothing is billed as a “luxury, Italian slow fashion brand… showcasing the best standards of Italian craftsmanship and style”.

Located on the third floor of St James Quarter, the store design is a reflection of the Italian boutiques, “incorporating soft tones and utilitarian fabrications for a minimal, industrial feel”.

Specialising in premium clothing and accessories, the range includes quality Italian-made leather manufactured by Christiano Di Thiene. It stresses all decorations, badges and emblems that characterise the designer collections “are original and worn by the Italian Air Force and Frecce Tricolori pilots every day…consequently, Aeronautica Militare guarantees exclusivity and authenticity”.

The new spring/summer 22 range “takes a more considered approach to design compared to fast fashion counterparts” and features wearable, high-quality garments from this season’s ‘it’ cargo trousers to technical windbreakers and embroidered polo shirts along with loungewear.

Aeronautica Militare UK managing director Giulia Marini, said: “We picked Edinburgh as the best city in the UK with a very strong Italian community plus we are in St James Quarter which is an incredible location.”

Nick Peel, MD at St James Quarter, added: “Aeronautica Militare is not only a first for Scotland but its unique Italian style and offering is a first for St James Quarter too.

“We want to give our visitors something new to see and do every time they come back to The Quarter, so we can't wait to see Aeronautica Militare come to life and bring a little Italian culture to The Quarter.”
