Aeffe appoints Matteo Scarpellini as CFO

Italian fashion group Aeffe has made a change at the top. At the end of 2021, the luxury group's long-standing managing director and CFO, Marcello Tassinari, left to join mosaic producer Sicis, and Aeffe has recently replaced him by appointing Matteo Scarpellini as its new CFO. Scarpellini will be “in charge of financial administration and control.”

A graduate in business administration from the University of Bologna, Scarpellini has a 15-year career in finance, working for major listed groups like digital data giant Datalogic and Trevi Finanziaria Industriale. He has taken up his new post immediately.
 
In the wake of Tassinari's departure, Aeffe, active on the market with its own labels Alberta Ferretti, Philosophy, Moschino and Pollini shoes, and licenses like Jeremy Scott, decided not to appoint a new managing director, instituting “an executive committee that takes care of corporate strategy, while improving the coordination of the group’s various companies.”

The committee is composed of three members: Executive President Massimo Ferretti; Giancarlo Galeone, a partner in the Orienta Capital Partners investment fund, a former director at Aeffe who recently rejoined the group's board; and CEO Simone Badioli. The latter had temporarily assumed some of Tassinari’s operational and managerial responsibilities, like that of CFO, which has now been entrusted to Scarpellini.
 
In June, Aeffe notably hired Francesco Francavilla as head of global communications for its labels Alberta Ferretti and Pollini. Formerly with Dolce & Gabbana, Karla Otto and Renée Caovilla, Francavilla had been for a year in charge of marketing and communications at Dreamers Factory, a company belonging by the Antonioli group, owner among others of Ann Demeulemeester. He succeeds at Aeffe Salvo Nicosia, who died prematurely in April.
