In his new role, Puente will be in charge of strengthening and coordinating the senior management team.

The position was left vacant after Adriana Dominguez was appointed CEO in May 2018. Adriana Dominguez and Antonio Puente have been working together since October 2017, when Puente was promoted to the role of director of operations.

The company said Puente is “a great professional” who has shown excellent financial skills. “Antonio Puente also brings vision and pragmatism which represent the peaceful revolution that has allows us to radically change the company's performance in less than two years,” the CEO said.

According to the brand, Puente is responsible for overseeing a young and renewed management team that is mostly composed of women. His appointment and the new leadership team will drive the next phase of the company’s transformation.

Over the last two years, the luxury firm has managed to increase like-for-like sales by 26%, while e-commerce revenues have grown 22.3% year-on-year. Additionally, it has reviewed it store estate and now 52% of its stores are located outside Spain.

Adolfo Dominguez Group had a turnover of 113.7 million euros ($129m) in the 2017/18 financial year. In the first half of the new financial year, operating EBITDA improved by 72.8%, the company’s latest trading update revealed.

The designer fashion firm has 396 stores in 23 countries (mostly outside of Spain) and over 1,100 employees worldwide.
