Adidas has taken the wraps off its Official Match Ball of 2016, for which it drew inspiration from Rio de Janeiro, the "football capital."

Calle Errejota, the soccer ball features green and yellow in a tribute to the Brazilian flag, with a wave design evoking the sidewalks along Rio's beaches.

As far as technology goes, it is the same as the Brazuca FIFA World Cup 2014 Official Match Ball, with a symmetrical structure of six panels and a surface that provides grip, stability and aerodynamics.

Available to purchase starting November 20 in Adidas outlets and specialist retailers worldwide, it is also available in five-a-side, indoor, beach and mini versions.

The ball's first appearance is scheduled for the FIFA Club World Cup, beginning December 10 in the Yokohama International Stadium in Japan. It will also be used in all world championships organized by FIFA during the 2016 season, including Rio de Janeiro.
