Austrian hosiery specialist Wolford has reported an increase in sales for the first half of the 2012/2013 financial year, closed 31 October. The mid-way point confirms the brand’s continued success, following an increase in sales of 4% in the first quarter, with total revenue of 76.6 million euros for the same period.

In keeping with the good news, after being in deficit of 3 million euros for the first three months of the year, Wolford has managed to reduce deficit before interest and tax to 680,000 euros.

While the Austrian company has enjoyed an increase in sales in the United States, France, Belgium, Germany, Switzerland and Eastern Europe, the company has seen a decline in sales in Spain and Italy. Promoting the decision to develop its own retail network, sales in Wolford stores increased by 12%, meaning 53% of sales are made in the brand’s own stores. Wolford is expecting equally as positive results for the second half of the year.
