CEW's members voted for the winners of the awards, which are sponsored by Marks & Spencer and were announced at the London Hilton on Park Lane hotel. It's the 11th year that the award has been held, and 350 brands competed in 27 categories.

Winning products get to carry the prestigious ‘Beauty Insiders’ winner’s seal on their products and across their communications channels. British brands did well this year, making up over 70% of the winners. They included make-up artist Charlotte Tilbury's brand, which was the first ever to take home four awards.

Among other British winners were Liz Earle Beauty Co. Cleanse and Polish Hot Cloth Cleanser, which has been named the Best Classic Beauty Product Prestige consecutively for five years. Other British winners include Neal’s Yard Remedies, Batiste, Delilah, Elemis, Tangle Teaser, and Margaret Dabbs.

International brands to take home prizes include Marc Jacobs, whose "Decadence" fragrance won the award for Best New Women's Fragrance - Prestige. Bee Good won Best New Brand Mass for the second year running.

President of CEW, Caroline Neville said: “We are so pleased to have received a record number of entries in 2016 and are delighted with the winning products. The CEW Beauty Awards winning seal continues to bolster the credibility of brands and products across the world and we’re excited for what the future holds.”
