Mr Porter chimes in with 10th anniversary high-end watch collection
Mr Porter has partnered with 10 prestigious watch brands to launch a “one-of-kind exclusive collection” to celebrate the online men’s fashion retailer’s 10th anniversary.
It’s a sign of the importance of the watches market at present given that the brand should choose to link with watch brands for the anniversary event. And it also underlines how much bigger watch sales have become for the e-tailer.
Introduced under the title ’10’, Mr Porter has worked alongside Baume & Mercier, Bell & Ross, Cartier, IWC Schaffhausen, Jaeger-LeCoultre, Oris, Panerai, Ressence, Roger Dubuis, and Vacheron Constantin to produce a “symbolic and highly-collectable collection”, with prices ranging £2,840-£139,000.
Jaeger-LeCoultre and Vacheron Constantin have both expanded from a single model to a wider series with the former taking the Reverso model and creating exclusive engraved pieces across five cities around the world – Hong Kong, London, Milan, New York, and Paris.
Meanwhile, Vacheron Constantin has delved into its Les Collectionneurs archive to source 10 vintage pieces across its Overseas, Prestige de la France, 2215 and 222 models among others. “Each watch has been carefully restored by its dedicated restoration master watchmakers”, the brand said.
Alongside the watch collection, London-based accessories brand Rapport has created an exclusive leather single-watch case, with ‘10’ stamped in gold on each side.
Mr Porter said the collection includes detailed reviews of each watch, featured within its digital magazine The Journal.
