Goldsmiths revamped Newcastle store shows strength of luxe watch and jewellery trend
Goldsmiths has just unveiled its new Intu Eldon Square store in Newcastle after a £0.3 million spend that has extended the luxury watch and jewellery offer there.
Higher-end watches and fine jewellery are a key frontier for both fashion retailers and jewellery specialists at present and we’re seeing plenty of activity in this area such as Net-a-Porter adding its fine jewellery area and Harrods investing in space for the category.
At Goldsmiths, the extra space means the store now covers 1,600 sq ft inside the key shopping centre in Newcastle, with the revamped location now having a variety of enlarged branded areas.
These include key luxe watch brands Rolex and Breitling. There are also Omega, Longines and Tudor timepieces on offer, as well as premium jewellery styles from Gucci for the first time, an exclusive collaboration with popular bridal designer Jenny Packham and more.
In line with the upscale environment, the company said that customer service experts will be available for one-on-one consultations and to provide advice across brands and collections.
Goldsmiths is the UK’s largest upscale high street watches and jewellery retailer with over 100 stores nationwide and a webstore.
