Dolce & Gabbana launches a collection of hijabs and abayas

Published
Jan 6, 2016

Dolce & Gabbana is looking to seduce customers in the Arab world. The label has created a premiere luxury line of headscarves and floor-length, traditional dresses revealed on Style.com/Arabia. Roomier and with more draping, the pieces mainly feature black, white and beige and prints from the spring/summer collection.

This line should most of all allow the Italian label to tap into the wealthy clientele in the lucrative markets of Saudi Arabia and the Persian Gulf.

Across the board, fashion players are increasingly looking to attract Muslim customers. Significant recent initiatives include H&M featuring a veiled woman in a campaign and Mango offering a collection for Ramadan.

The pieces are not yet available on D&G’s website.
