​Ugg, Fashion Nova, Maurices provide Covid-19 relief

The Covid-19 crisis has received an overwhelming response from the fashion industry with brands like Levi’s, Tiffany & Co. and many more donating to organizations across North America and rushing to add medical supplies to their production lines. Weeks into the global pandemic, more brands announced on Wednesday new relief initiatives that continue to give back. 

Ugg and Deckers Brands

Southern California-based global lifestyle brand Ugg and parent company Deckers Brands announced on Wednesday the launch of the 'Better Together' initiative, which aims to donate over one million dollars to the Covid-19 pandemic relief efforts, through monetary and product donations.

Ugg has committed to donating funds to NYC Health and Hospitals, and has equally initiated partnerships with select hotels that have opened their rooms to first responders and medical personnel serving on the frontlines to offer comforting Ugg products like slippers and plush robes.

Meanwhile, parent company Deckers Brands has established the Santa Barbara Better Together Fund at the Santa Barbara Foundation, based where Deckers and Ugg have been headquartered for over 47 years. Additionally, it has partnered with Santa Barbara-based Sansum Clinic, to provide one pair of Ugg and one pair of Hoka products to 145 health care workers who are on the frontlines. 

Fashion Nova 
Fashion Nova said on Wednesday that it was teaming up with cultural icon, Cardi B, on a philanthropic initiative dedicated to giving away $1,000 dollars every hour, for a total of $1,000,000 to people in need, until May 20.

Under the banner Fashion Nova Care, those in need can visit Fashion Nova's website to share their stories and information, with the company choosing 24 people each day for the duration of the program.

Richard Saghian, founder and CEO of Fashion Nova said the "Fashion Nova Cares initiative will continue beyond the current challenges of Covid-19 with additional endeavors and programs that will further help make a positive impact in people's lives."

Maurices 
Women’s apparel brand Maurices announced that it is donating $250,000 to multiple rural community hospitals to support healthcare workers on the frontlines of the Covid-19 pandemic, in and around the more than 900 stores it operates across the U.S. and Canada. 

The inclusive specialty apparel retailer is also donating to Essentia Health and St Luke’s Hospital (and their rural affiliates) in Duluth, Minnesota, where its headquarters is located.
