Sergio Rossi: Kering appoints a new CEO

Published
Jan 15, 2015

Sergio Rossi has a new CEO. After the departure of Christophe Mélard, it is Giovanni Giunchedi who will take on the role of CEO of the luxury shoewear brand. Kering made the announcement on Wednesday, confirmating the piece of information reported in Italian newspaper Il Sole 24 Ore.

Christophe Mélard left his position in September "to pursue other professional opportunities outside of the group," said Kering. Marco Bizzarri, Director of the group's "Luxury - Couture and Leather Goods" division, took on the position of interim head these past few months, before being appointed the head of Gucci in mid-December.

Giovanni Giunchedi was Sergio Rossi's Deputy CEO since five months. Before that, since 2012, he held the role of sustainability manager at Bottega Veneta, – where Marco Bizzarri was actually a former boss -, another luxury brand belonging to the Kering group.
