The exhibition, Rock Style, is inspired by Tommy Hilfiger's 1999 book of the same name, which looks at the intersections between rock music and fashion. It will also feature six new portraits of musicians by street artist and graphic designer Shepard Fairey.

Among the artists in the exhibition are Elvis, The Rolling Stones, Little Richard, Debbie Harry, and The Ramones. "If you look at every one of the iconic superstars,” Deitch said, “they all had a very distinct, outrageous style.”

Hilfiger is most excited about the new works. “I’m most interested in seeing Shepard’s work,” he said.

"Rock Style" opens on September 22.
