​ China’s Peak to dress Olympic athletes for Slovenia

Chinese manufacturer Peak presented in Ljubljana, Slovenia, the official sports kit that will be worn by Slovenian athletes competing in the upcoming 2016 Rio de Janeiro Olympic Games.

The sportswear brand designed and produced 27 items, including Olympic uniforms, formalwear (to be worn when being presented with Olympic medals) and shoes.

Following the presentation, Slovenian President donned a sports uniform provided by Peak and completed a symbolic 400-meter long-distance race, accompanied by 200 runners, including Olympic athletes, ICO president Thomas Bach and sports enthusiasts. 

The president of the International Olympic Committee (ICO) said: "I am very familiar with the Chinese brand Peak. It is a brand that has consistently provided impressive Olympic articles with excellent design work." 

In total, the Quanzhou –based company is sponsoring 10 Olympic teams this year, three more than in 2012. Other teams dressing Peak kits during the Olympic Games will include Cyprus, Ukraine, Jordan, Lebanon, Palestine, Algeria, Egypt, Nigeria and New Zealand.

Founded in 1989, the group has become the leading Chinese sportswear brand providing sports kits to Olympic committees.

Peak chairman, Xu Jingnan, said:” "During the remaining four months prior to the start of this year's games in Rio, we may ink agreements with additional Olympic teams, further expanding our partnerships with Olympic committees."

Rio 2016 runs from August 5 to August 21, 2016.
