Creative Director: Jonny JohanssonLocation: The basement of the Centorial creative space with raw walls and models showing opposite the guests, stood on a long catwalk. Collection: An experimental wardrobe, based on creativity. The designer asked children to draw their ideas of clothes, imparting a certain freshness and naivety to this new wardrobe. The silhouette is soft and comfortable, not constrained. The colours are lively and sharp. Focus: On the omnipresent knitwear, on the work on materials, warming and comforting, on the effects of texture and the blend of materials. Even the suits have a nonchalant allure. To note: The cropped and light flared trousers, the prints comprising of rockets, planets and embroidered stars on the tops, the wave effects on the sweaters and the golden necklaces that hang on the silhouette. Interview with Jonny Johansson: The starting point of the collection was trying to find the pure creativity, so I’ve been playing with the idea of sourcing it somewhere, because the fashion scene is very extreme at the moment. So what I did was I asked kids to make drawings and their idea of garments and fashion garments and not on board, it’s just piece by piece. The new wardrobe becoming experimental at the same time without being complicated to wear, was the result and also some coincidental things appeared like different shapes, drapes and different ways of constructing the garment. I was thinking of trying to elevate their drawings into a high-end fashion context so we worked a lot on the fabrics and the knits to make them substantial and rich and interesting but still naïve.
