Paul & Joe - Womenswear Show Autumn/Winter 2015/16 in Paris with interview

The Paul & Joe girl is almost 20 years old, and looks to free herself. This season she gains in personality with a beret on her head and a pony tail tied with a velvet hair band. She wears checks, tartan, that she combines with little silk shirts and frilly collars, trousers with large turn ups, knitted embroidered jumpers and long dresses in floral Liberty prints. Paired with derby shoes or with long Dr.Martens, she mixes the genres, sometimes boyish, sometimes like a young girl. For the evening, she takes on her femininity in a little dress with rows of sequins. Sophie Mechaly works on an urban wardrobe, which responds to the expectations and desires of her growing number of clients and followers of her easy to wear fashion. Interview:Sophie Mechaly: I wanted quite a surprising change for this winter collection, we’re close to celebrating twenty years in 2015/16, and I wanted a style or a section that is a bit more radical, with the girls who I might say have quite an unusual look, with a real direction of girls, a side that’s a little bit boyish, with the little fitted jackets, a tailoring side, a bit Savile Row, the rolled up Bermuda shorts, the huge boots on the feet with a very romantic touch, with the frills and the pussy bow collars.Today I work on my collections thinking first of all about my clients, I always try to satisfy my clients who are always there, for 20 years or more, at the same time I try to also please the young generation, I do my best to keep a level of design, and to keep moving forward and for that you need to surprise.
