Rick Owens Fall Winter Collection 2013/14 in Paris

Wind invites itself to the Rick Owens show, with a wind tunnel blowing the long frizzy hair of the models covering their faces. Clothes play a comforting and protecting role with their oversized sleeves and collars. The garments give the feeling they're floating on the body. A feeling of lightness is accentuated by kimono jackets made with big stitches. A lot of poetry and power emanate from this show with a repetitive use of black and white, and bas-relief clothing referring to the work of sculptor, Alfred Janniot.

Interview
Rick Owens : I was thinking of Alfred Janniot the beautiful muralist, from Art Deco of the bas-relief walls that he did and I was thinking about that extreme texture on concrete and I thought I wanted to make clothes that have extreme texture, so I was feeling this a bas-relief.
