The standalone store spreads across 2,200 sq ft on the lower Guildhall, opposite upmarket British label Reiss. It houses the brand’s latest womenswear, footwear and accessories collections.

Russell Loveland, Portfolio Director at Land Securities, co-owner and asset manager of Bluewater, said: “The opening of Mint Velvet, which will be followed by Michael Kors, LK Bennett and Jigsaw later this summer, is a very strong addition to Bluewater’s premium line-up and reaffirms our position as the first choice location in the South East for leading brands.”

Liz Houghton, chief executive of Mint Velvet, added: “This new Bluewater store is key to and reflective of our expansion strategy in the UK. The high quality location is fantastic, with significant appeal to our affluent customer base, whilst benefitting from a much wider catchment area.”

More than 20 fashion and premium brands have opened at Bluewater in the past 12 months. The shopping centre is an out of town shopping destination located in Stone, Kent, outside the M25 Orbital motorway.

Among the new brands are menswear retailer Hackett London, Anthropologie, Swiss watchmaker Breitling and Tesla. Next also opened an upsized unit, while work is currently underway to create a new 40,000 sq ft statement store for H&M
