WSN Developpement launches Maro&Go, a new September trade show

Published
Apr 24, 2014

WSN Developpement's newest project is a new event for a number of leather goods buyers who no longer attend the July session of Who's Next because the dates are too early. The project will have its debut this coming fall under the name Maro&Go.

The first edition of this event for traditional leather goods, luggage and school equipment will be held at the Porte de Versailles, Hall 2.2, from September 14 to 16, the same weekend of the TEC shoe salon in a neighboring location.

Maro&Go is a name that was already used it a few years ago at the Prêt à Porter Paris trade fair before it was merged with Who's Next. This year's initiative responds to a specific request from luggage and school equipment buyers. This group says the July dates are too early and also that they are also looking for more traditional products that are less about trends or design than those offered in the second session at the end of September.

WSN Development hopes to bring on 80 brands for this first edition in a format that is a more classic business trade fair and "less event-focused than Who's Next," according to Sylvie Pourrat, head of the accessories fairs.

"This does not put the July fair into question," she said, "but we are just doing our job as organizers and offering a service for a specific and seasonal needs."

The January session is not impacted in the same way as its dates work well for buyers in this segment. To that end, Maro&Go will try to establish itself as an annual fair.
