Victoria Gate secures more retailers ahead of opening

The Victoria Gate scheme in Leeds continues to attract interest from retailers just days before its opening. Hammerson has secured four new aspirational brands for the £165 million development, which launches this Thursday.

Quintessentially British lifestyle brand, Cath Kidston is to open a new 96m² store, while London heritage fashion house Ghost hast taken an 80m² unit to showcase its contemporary and luxurious lines. This is the first time Ghost ventures outside of London.

Also opening its first boutique outside of the capital is eyewear label Bailey Nelson. The UK brand will open a 60m² store next to Aspinal of London.

Finally, Hammerson has signed young creative menswear brand, Diverso. The 60m² store will be the third in its portfolio, showcasing its innovative British tailoring and relaxed fashion designs.

Robin Dobson, Director of Retail Development at Hammerson commented: “We are delighted that we’ve continued to debut great new brands in Leeds. With only a few days to go until Victoria Gate opens, Cath Kidston, Bailey Nelson, Diverso and Ghost are all exciting additions which will soon propel Leeds to the third top ranking shopping destination outside of London.”

The brands join a dynamic mix of premium retailers, including Tommy Hilfiger, Hackett, Anthropologie, Gant, Joules, John Lewis, Russel & Bromley and Calvin Klein.
