Valextra opens first UK store on Mount Street

Luxury Italian accessories brand Valextra has opened its first standalone store in London on Mount Street in the Mayfair area.

The new store is Valextra's first in London

The flagship location is on the same street at other key luxury brands including Marc Jacobs, Christian Louboutin and Céline.

The modernist store sits inside a traditional exterior at 129 Mount Street with a design by Philippe Malouin of London-based Post-Office Studio. The minimalist space is intended to be ultra-flexible and features a floating wall of shelves plus moveable, modular display units that mean the store design can be revamped regularly. Colours have been kept soft with the key focus being on the handbags and luggage.

The Milanese brand, which is owned by London-based luxury goods investor Neo Investment Partners, began an international expansion plan three years ago and now also has standalone stores in New York, Hong Kong Japan, South Korea and Singapore, as well as being available online.

Last year it named former Joseph and Furla chief executive Sara Ferrero as its CEO. Ferrero is also a partner in Neo.
