Victoria's Secret Angel Sara Sampaio has been named the new beauty ambassador for the haircare brand Moroccanoil.

The Portuguese-born supermodel was chosen by the brand for her "confidence, spontaneous spirit, exotic beauty and international style." She replaces British model Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, who previously held the role.

Sampaio's first campaign for the brand is titled "Beauty From Every Angle," and a teaser posted to the company website sees her rocking beachy waves for the camera, wearing a full-length gown and natural makeup.

Sampaio notes that as a fan of the brand, she has a special preference for the Moroccanoil Treatment, of which she says: "Even if I don't feel like doing anything else to my hair, if I just towel-dry my hair and put a little bit on the ends -- the way it dries is just so beautiful."

The news is the latest move by Moroccanoil to diversify in terms of ambassadors in an attempt to engage a wider audience. Last fall the brand signed up model Jasmine Sanders, known for her full head of natural curls, as the face of its 'Curl Collection' campaign.

Since making her debut appearance on the Victoria's Secret runway in 2013, Sampaio's profile has sky-rocketed, and last year saw her walk in fashion shows for brands including Elie Saab, Jean Paul Gaultier and Balmain.

Moroccanoil was founded a decade ago and has since grown into a global line of oil-infused haircare and skincare products, sold in over 65 countries worldwide.
