High-end homeware brand Tom Dixon is relocating its headquarters from West London to create a new home including new flagship shop, showroom, office, restaurant and café at King’s Cross.

The new HQ will be located in the Coal Office, a former coal distribution centre dating back to 1851

The brand’s new headquarters will be in the Coal Office, a 17,500 sq ft converted coal distribution centre which is undergoing restoration as part of the redevelopment of King’s Cross.

The office move follows a period of rapid expansion for Tom Dixon after having opened two new permanent stores in New York and Los Angeles in 2016.

"For us it was imperative not just to find a new office or shop. It was vital to find a new home," said the designer.

"We will use these 17,500 sq feet in this incredible location as a platform to broadcast our latest ideas in interior design, product innovation and experiments in food, functionality and future living."

The brand becomes part of a number of brands leading the revamp of King’s Cross, with the opening of the new Coal Drops Yard shopping quarter planned for autumn 2018.

With a focus on fashion, craft and culture, Coal Drops Yard will create a new retail destination in the heart of King’s Cross and house a mix of established and emerging retailers.

First retailers announced include fashion concept store 18Montrose, modern British spectacles and sunglasses company Cubitts and boutique bag designers Lost Property of London.
