Tinct launches Chelsea pop-up shop
Aug 24, 2016
Tinct is a new British leather brand started by siblings Rosie and Ben Broad. Founded in 2015, the label makes all its bags in the UK, using a vegetable-tanning base colour which is then paired with Navy canvas lining that is woven in Manchester.
Now, the brand is opening a new pop-up shop in London's Chelsea, which will be the first ever real-life showcase of their products. It will sell Tinct's veg-tanned bags, wallets and accessories. A special product for the shop is Tinct's limited-edition motorcycle-helmet bag, which is hand-crafted in Somerset and London from vegetable-tanned Italian leather.
It may seem an unusually niche piece to create, but there's a reason behind it. “We have a few friends who ride bikes and race cars,” says Rosie; ‘it evolved through conversations with them. There really is nothing decent to house these beautiful helmets, which are expensive pieces of kit, especially if you’re going for a custom paint job.”
The pop-up has been designed to "express the wonders of nature", inspired by Tinct's vegetable-tanned leather, and will also feature contributions from London floral studio Bold Oxlip.
The founders will be in the store during the pop-up's ten day run and will also offer a free personalisation service. The store is located on 121 Sydney Street and opens on September 1.
