Global online community of independent brands, Tictail opened the doors to its first-ever permanent storefront at 90 Orchard Street in Manhattan’s Lower East Side.
Much like the pop up stores that Tictail opened in New York City, Paris and Stockholm, the permanent retail location introduces shoppers to emerging designers from around the world who specialize in fashion, home décor, jewelry and art like Daniel Dugoff, Romeo Hunte and Anne-Sofie Back. The store brings designers’ stories to life and helps customers to create personal relationships with the brands they are shopping.
“From day one we’ve sought to bring together a community of amazing local brands from around the world, and give them the tools to build global businesses,” explains Carl Waldekranz, Tictail co-founder and CEO, who was named one of Forbes’ 30 Under 30: Retail & E-Commerce last week. “Tictail Market will be an immersive experience, a touchpoint for New Yorkers to explore and engage with the incredible stories behind each and every Tictail entrepreneur.”
Tictail Market New York will host a seasonal community seller in the front of the shop to give local small business owners a central storefront to build a local audience. Evan Z Crane will be the first designer featured from January 11. In addition, the store will host various events like the #tictailtable series that will double as a community meetup space where creatives can meet, collaborate and create.
The Swedish company opened two holiday pop up stores in New York City in 2014 and 2015 before opening the permanent store this year. The company also opened pop up stores in Paris and Stockholm in December 2015.
Tictail is a community of 100,000 independent brands across 140 countries worldwide.
