The veil has been lifted on the ANDAM award 2016, the prize recognising young French and France-based designers. The shortlist of finalists has been revealed, a few weeks before the big moment, the examination before the jury on July 1st.

There are six nominees this year, and not five as in 2015, and they will vie for the main prize awarding a €250,000 jackpot to one of them. For the record, the ANDAM 2015 award went to the Pigalle Paris brand, designed by Stéphane Ashpool.

The happy 2016 vintage consists of Aalto by Finnish designer Tuomas Merikoski, Belgian designer Tim Coppens, Jacquemus (by Simon Porte Jacquemus),  Koché (by Christelle Kocher), Wanda Nylon (by Johanna Senyk) and emerging label OAMC, launched in 2014 by Creative Director Luke Meier and by Arnaud Faeh.

The first collection prize will award €100,000, and the shortlist features Atlein, Harmony Paris and Japanese designer Kenta Matsushige. Two years ago, the latter was notably awarded the grand prize at the Hyères (France) Fashion and Photography Festival.

The fashion accessories prize will be worth €40,000, and the names on the shortlist are Hugo Matha, Amélie Pichard and Tomasini Paris.
