Reports emerged on Monday about the possible sale of The Square Tallaght, saying that owners Nama have hired Cushman & Wakefield and Jones Lang LaSalle to market the site.

The Dublin mall comprises 53,000 sq mts of retail space spread across three floors and offers over 130 shops, restaurants and a popular cinema. It has annual footfall of 21.7 million.

According to the Sunday Times, the shopping centre will be put on the market in September.

Tenants at The Square include H&M, River Island, Shoe Zone, Clarks, Debenhams, New Look and JD Sports. The retail scheme was the largest in Ireland when it opened in 1990 and has been recently granted permission for a major redevelopment. The €40 million proposed project aims to enhance and modernise the current offering while adding an additional 200,000 sq ft of retail space.
