Seasalt signs up for Tunsgate Quarter six days after opening

Seasalt is to join the new Tunsgate Quarter in Guildford following its official opening last week.

The Cornwall-based clothing, homeware and accessories retailer has taken a 1,370 sq ft unit at the shopping centre, which opened to the public last week following a comprehensive 18-month refurbishment programme.

Its signing, alongside Cosy Club, a casual restaurant, boosts Tunsgate Quarter’s curated retail and leisure lineup. The White Company, Cath Kidston, premium furniture brand Loaf and Bobbi Brown have also a presence at the shopping centre.

As a result of the new announcements, terms have now been agreed on 85% of the 80,000 sq ft shopping destination.

Neil Chadwick, co-founder of Seasalt, said: “We're thrilled to be able to bring Seasalt to Guildford as we continue to expand our business. Tunsgate Quarter was too good an opportunity to ignore, as the centre offers a great mix of lifestyle brands and it’s set in a brilliant location. Guildford has great charisma and such a great catchment, so the destination was the obvious choice.”

Chris Daly, Senior Leasing Manager at Queensberry, added: “The opening event at Tunsgate Quarter last week was enormously successful with hugely positive feedback from both retailers and visitors to the centre across its first few days.”

The mall’s refurbishment added two new levels to the rear of the scheme, and created a thoroughfare between the High Street and its surrounding roads.

Cosy Club and Seasalt will join the lineup in spring.
