Reed Exhibitions acquires American trade show Agenda

ReedPOP, a subsidiary of international event planning group Reed Exhibitions, has just acquired American street and action sports trade show, Agenda.

The last edition of Agenda in New York, 23 & 24 January

The show was first launched ten years ago on the west coast – in Long Beach to be exact- with just 33 exhibitors. At the most recent edition, which took place the 4 and 5 January, 550 exhibitors were present. Agenda started showing in New York in 2010 with a slightly smaller format. All in all, four editions of the show are held each year, with the general focus on style, art and culture.

Aaron Levant, founder and speaker at French trade show, The Base in Biarritz, says clients at Agenda will benefit from the takeover by Reed. “We are really very happy to work with a company of this size. Reed is the world leader in event organization with more than 450 events annually and offices in 36 countries. The partnership allows us to explore new possibilities and new markets,” he says.

For Greg Topalian, Senior Vice President at Reed Exhibitions, Agenda is in line with the other shows in the ReedPOP portfolio, which works with shows with a pop culture and lifestyle theme.

The question remains: Will Reed Exhibitions help Agenda to cross the American boarders and enter Europe and Asia? It would certainly shake up the street and lifestyle trade show scene…
