The extension will consist of part of the current bus and coach station site, which will be turned into new restaurants, shops and a cinema. The centre will also get new public spaces, including an outdoor amphitheatre. The general public can see the plans for the extension at the centre on July 22 and 23.

John Grinnell from The Crown Estate said: “The extension of Princesshay will significantly improve the range of restaurants, retail and leisure amenities available in the city centre, which will be a great boost for inward investment into Exeter, for local trade and business, and for jobs and growth. We’ve been working hard since receiving outline consent earlier this year so we’re really looking forward to showcasing the detailed plans to local people and hearing their views.”

Princesshay is jointly owned by the Crown Estate, which recently announced a record income return of £304.1m.
