Playful Promises named Small Business of the Year

London-based lingerie brand Playful Promises has won the Small Business of the Year award by the UK Lingerie Awards.

The winner was announced at a ceremony on 19 February at St John Hotel in Solihull. It was recognised as one of the best in the business for its inclusive size range, after expanding its lingerie offering over three times since 2015.

The award tops a year of achievements for the brand, which has seen sales increase by 100% over the past 12 months. In September, it launched a campaign and lingerie collection with US fashion blogger and plus-size swimwear designer Gabi Gregg, gaining international press due to the extended size range. The collection included pieces up to UK size 29 and bra sizes up to 44G.

And in November, it teamed up with non-binary drag queen Violet Chachki for the Bettie Page Lingerie mini-brand, revealing a campaign that championed inclusiveness to all genders and sexualities.

The brand, founded in 2012, has also opened a US website and warehouse to become widely available to its customer base.
