In his new role at Perricone, Fugate will be charged particularly with the responsibility of finding new consumers.

Fugate is a proven CEO who has led large companies and small startups alike. His previous three roles have helped the companies he led through purchases by larger companies including Clorox and Pfizer.

Most recently he led Swander Pace-backed natural products company Renew Life through a $290M sale to Clorox in May of last year. Three years before that, he led YoCrunch to its sale to Danone. Prior to those roles, Fugate was the CEO of Alacer, producer of health supplement Emergen-C. In that role he led the company to Pfizer for $300M.

Fugate has extensive leadership experience in pharmaceuticals as well as consumer product goods. Earlier in his career, he was a senior director of marketing at Bristol-Myers Squibb, a business development director at Kellogg Company and held global brand roles with Johnson & Johnson.

Lion Capital LLP Partner and Managing Director Mary Minnick pointed to Fugate's "ability to put the consumer first," as well as make decisions that will continue to grow the brand.

Fugate said he looks forward to accomplishing those goals through "finding new ways to resonate with our target consumer, and by making the brand's health-centric proposition more relevant than ever."

Perricone MD is currently sold online through the brand's e-commerce store as well as through a flagship brick and mortar store in Berkeley, CA. It is also available at Nordstrom, Ulta and Sephora, as well as online with Neiman Marcus. The brand is globally distributed in 20 countries.
