Arcadia’s out-of-town, one-stop shopping destination Outfit is launching in May its first ever high street store in Newcastle in a former BHS site.

According to local media reports, the multi-brand fascia will offer a large mix of new season products from Arcadia brands Topshop, Miss Selfridge, Dorothy Perkins, Wallis, Evans, Topman and Burton, as well as Oasis and Warehouse.

The Northumberland Street store could mean a new chapter for Outfit, which has over 77 stores predominantly based in retail parks across the UK. Rumours emerged last year that Arcadia had new plans for its out-of-town brand following a review of the group’s store estate.

Created in 1995 to bring all Arcadia brands under one roof, Outfit has some of the largest stores in Arcadia’s portfolio and has grown by 50% over the past five years, according the group.

The Northumberland Street store housed BHS until August last year, when the collapsed company was forced to close down all UK stores after administrators failed to find a buyer for the whole of the business.
