The Parisian creative, known for her quirky handbags and accessories as well as for her ready-to-wear lines, will join forces with the French beauty brand to develop a "sexy, vintage and glamorous" makeup collection. The limited-edition products are set to drop in August 2017.

"Olympia Le-Tan designs combine poetry and joie de vivre," says Françoise Lehmann, General Manager of Lancôme International. "A bridge between different eras, they reflect the spirit of our time, celebrating the free and personal beauty of each woman -- a take on happiness shared by Lancôme."

Further details of the makeup project have yet to be revealed, but if the products resemble Le-Tan's fashion aesthetic at all, then we can perhaps expect retro-inspired feminine confections in vibrant, Technicolor shades, with surrealist touches and a polished finish. Known for her hand-embroidered minaudières, Le-Tan's pieces blend nostalgia and modernity for a playful and contemporary result.

Le-Tan is the latest in a long line of designers recruited by Lancome to collaborate on a makeup palette, following in the footsteps of Alber Elbaz, Yiqin Ying, Alexandre Vauthier, Jacquemus, Anthony Vaccarello and Sonia Rykiel. And she herself is no stranger to brand collaborations, having previously worked with Disney on a series of purses inspired by its classic characters.

The eponymous Olympia Le-Tan accessories label was first founded in 2009, and quickly found fame thanks to its signature clutch bags. A ready-to-wear label followed in 2012.
