Nordstrom testing curbside pick-up at 20 stores

Nordstrom is looking to make the customer experience easier for its clientele by introducing a new curbside pickup program. The pilot program is an offshoot of its buy online, pick up in store option introduced in 2008.

Like Buy on-line, Pickup in Stores, the curbside pick-up program prepares a customer’s order in an hour, but instead of having to park and possibly wait in line in a Nordstrom store, the customer can opt to have a store employee bring their order out to them to a designated parking spot/area.

"There is a number on your order you can call to arrange store pick up. If the customer selects curbside pickup, they call or text that same number when it's convenient for them to let us know when, and we will bring their order out to them," a spokesman for the company said.

Nordstrom is testing its new program at 20 stores and is currently available only via the Nordstrom website and not on its mobile application.

If the program is as successful as the retailer hopes, the offer could be expanded to more of Nordstrom’s more than 300 stores across North America.
