Apple is very busy launching new products. With the new Apple watch, the US giant intends to carve a leading position in the field of connected sport. It was too attractive an opportunity for Nike and the Cupertino company to not work together, and the two have joined forces again, launching the Apple Watch Nike+ on 9th September.

The new watch is available in two sizes and features a brighter screen than its predecessor, a pinpoint-accurate GPS, a comfortable strap, perforated and perspiration-resistant, and is waterproof up to a depth of 50m. Besides the Nike-themed design available in four colours, the models incorporate the Nike+ apps and are clearly targeted to runners. For example, there is a direct link to the Nike+ Run Club app. The price starts from $369 and the watch will be delivered in October.

Nike needed to come up with an innovation, as connected sport is becoming highly competitive. Under Armour has for example recently associated with Garmin, a specialist in performance tracking tools, to create an integrated set of connected products, featuring a scales, shoes, a watch and a bracelet.
