Next to open Leeds flagship in converted BHS store

Fashion retail giant Next is set to spend £6 million on a flagship store at the White Rose shopping centre in Leeds. The 29,000 ft.² store Will be on the site of the former BHS department store.

Next's Bluewater store will be the template for the Leeds flagship

The investment gives Next the opportunity to radically upsize from its current Store in the shopping centre. in fact it represents almost double the floorspace. The new Store Will be spread across two floors.

The location appears to be a strong one with the new Next sitting opposite Topshop and Topman as well as being near a branch of Miss Selfridge.

Unsurprisingly given the size of the store, it will stock the entire Next range. That will include the childrenswear and homewares that are not currently available at the smaller existing branch, as well as the retailer’s menswear and womenswear.

The new flagship should be ready by June and will be designed using the concept pioneered at the Bluewater mall in Kent, which was recently modernised.

The White Rose Centre is currently being transformed into a retail and leisure destination. It is benefiting from a 65,000 ft.² expansion of its leisure facilities including a cinema and several new restaurants.

Landlord Land Securities said White Rose is one of the strongest performing centres in its portfolio.
