The one-day event will bring together fashion businesses and manufacturers who can produce smaller scale quantities under one roof at York Hall in Bethnal Green on 11 July. Over 20 exhibitors are confirmed in the line-up, including Fashion Enter, Zedonk, Offset Warehouse, Source Studio, Plus Samples Ltd and Making for Change.

The trade show is part of the incubator’s CFE’s Fashion Technology Emerging Futures project, which is part funded by the European Regional Development Fund. Centre for Fashion Enterprise said it plans to hold the show twice a year.

“London is known for nurturing the most innovative and authentic creative fashion designers and emerging businesses but without manufacturers to support and work with them their creative talent and growing businesses would not be realised. Our vision is to connect business with manufacturers with a view to developing long term working relationships,” said Judith Tolley, head of the CFE.

The organisation supports designers and creative entrepreneurs and helps them develop their ideas into businesses by providing support programmes to facilitate their USP, vision and innovation. Current CFE businesses and alumni include Wales Bonner, Molly Goddard, Craig Green, Erdem, Peter Pilotto and Mary Katrantzou.

For the first Manufacturer’s Trade Show, CFE commissioned social organisation Making for Change to make a collection of tote bags designed by Phoebe English, Steven Tai, Teatum Jones and CFE Fashion Pioneer designer, Ovelia Transtoto.

The inaugural New Manufacturer’s Trade Show will be held on Tuesday 11 July at York Hall in Bethnal Green.
