New Balance and Grenson collaborate on brogue sneaker

American sports giant, New Balance, and historic, quality British footwear maker, Grenson, have recently unveiled a new collaboration sneaker that combines both companies’ heritage, the Made In England 576GRB.

The Grenson x New Balance 576 brogue sneaker

The 576GRB sneaker has adopted Grenson’s refined touch and now resembles a brogue shoe rather than a running sneaker. Grenson, which is celebrating its 150th anniversary this year, and New Balance sent the sneaker to their respective factories in Northampton and Flimby to ensure premium quality production.

Grenson’s signature Italian grade A calf-skin leather was worked into the 576 pattern at Flimby, before being shipped back to the craftsmen at Grenson to apply their signature burnishing and broguing details. The components were then returned to the New Balance factory to be assembled by their skilled workers into the final sneaker.

"One of New Balance’s most ambitious ever sneakers to make, due to the complexity and delicacy of the process, the 576GRB represents a new standard in luxury athletic footwear," reads the description provided by New Balance.

The collaboration sneaker will be available on the Grenson website and at the Grenson stores in Soho and Lambs Conduit Street in London on January 9, and limited pairs will be available globally at specialty retailers beginning 23rd Jan.
