N Brown teams up with Sopra Steria on digital strategy

N Brown, the British plus-size fashion retailer, is currently undergoing a change that it says is "the biggest business transformation in its 140-year history," as it moves from being a direct-mail led retailer to a digital-first retailer.

To help facilitate the transformation, N Brown has signed up digital transformation expert Sopra Steria, which will help create a unique platform for the retailer. Sopra Steria will run a core applications and infrastructure support service for N Brown and provide technical support for the company.

With online retail sales growth continuing to outpace in-store sales growth in the UK - bricks and mortar retail sales were flat in April, while online non-food retail sales rose 6.6% - digital strategy, online availability and ease of use is becoming increasingly important for British companies.
