Meet the Manufacturer to feature "Dragon's Den"- style competition

Meet the Manufacturer, which says it's the only sourcing event for 100% British clothing, textile & leathergoods manufacturers, is launching a new "Dragon's Den"-style competition at its upcoming conference and tradeshow on May 25 and 26.

The first day will host an Innovation Accelerator for manufacturers, and there will be a Designer's Den for designers on the second. Before the event, enterprising manufacturers and designers are invited to submit their ideas, and the most promising ones will be chosen to attend the Meet the Manufacturer conference.

Here, they will pitch their ideas to a panel of experts, and benefit from their knowledge and advice to take their business to the next level.

Kate Hills, CEO and founder of Make it British, explains: “If the next Industrial Revolution is upon us, then it is quite pertinent that the opening sequence of the original series of Dragon’s Den was filmed by Manchester’s famous cotton mills, the inspiration being that it was an area transformed by the first Industrial Revolution.  Since innovation is the key theme for our event this year, we’re taking our inspiration from the Dragon’s Den series to give manufacturers and designers the opportunity to pitch their creative and pioneering concepts to a panel of experts to gain the recognition and mentoring to enable them to transform their business.”
