Make it British Live to relocate as it expands beyond fashion

London trade show Make it British Live has confirmed it is moving from the Old Truman Brewery in London to the larger Business Design Centre in Islington for its 2019 show.

The relocation is taking place to help the growing trade show, organised by former Burberry buyer Kate Hills, expand into new product areas beyond fashion and textiles and “keep up with the demand for local manufacturing post-Brexit”.

Organisers said the move presents “a great opportunity for UK manufacturers to showcase what they do in a beautiful venue that is filled with natural light and steeped in history.” The Business Design Centre is a popular venue for fashion trade shows. This is where the London Textile Fair, Texfusion and LondonEdge are held, and it has been previously home to childrenswear show Bubble.

Make it British Live has been growing fast since its first edition in 2014. This year’s exhibition, held in May, was held as the busiest yet, with 200 exhibitors and more people going through its doors by 3pm on day 1 than on the whole first day the previous year.

The exhibition changed its name from Meet the Manufacturer to Make it British Live to more closely aligned the event with its website and reflect its mission.

In addition to changing its venue, Make it British Live has confirmed its dates for 2019. The next edition of the trade show will take place on 29-30 May at BDO.
