M&S creates new role to manage clothing supply chain

Marks and Spencer has appointed former Jack Wills COO Gordon Mowat to the newly created role of director for clothing and home supply chain, logistics and planning.

Mowat served as interim chief operations officer at Jack Wills for over a year after leaving his post as group property director at Morrisons. He spent over four years at the British supermarket chain, holding thee separate senior positions until his departure in 2015.

Mowat will report directly to M&S’ newly appointed director of clothing Jil MacDonald.

A spokesperson for M&S said: “Gordon brings extensive logistics, supply chain and wider strategic experience to the role, having held positions in retail and customer facing organisations.

“We’re delighted he is joining the business and his appointment supports our strategic priority for clothing and home and will ultimately help us deliver for our customers.”
