Jewellery brand Swarovski, sports fashion retailer JD Sports and Australian homeware specialist House have all taken new stores at The Lexicon Bracknell, as the town centre prepares to welcome 16 million visitors in its first year.

Swarovski will open a new 750 sq ft store on The Avenue, adding to other jewellery choices including Beaverbrooks, Ernest Jones, F. Hinds and Pandora, while JD Sports will open a 6,500 sq ft space on Braccan Walk. House will join the homeware selection in the town centre with a 3,000 sq ft unit also on Braccan Walk.

The revamped town centre is now 92.4% let or in solicitors’ hands, with a further 12,000 sq ft of retail in negotiations. It opened in September last year and has seen 8.4 million visits in its first six months.

Richard Poyser, Head of Retail Relationships & Leasing for Legal & General, said: “The overriding vision for the regeneration of Bracknell was to create a welcoming and engaging contemporary and timeless town centre with the residents and customers at the heart. Through great brand names and more than 100 fashion, beauty, homeware and technology stores, we are ensuring there’s something for everyone.”

The town centre features 1 million sq ft of retail, restaurants and leisure space, including a full-line Fenwick and the existing Princess Square shopping centre.

Harry Pickering, Investment Manager at Schroder UK Real Estate Fund, said that The Lexicon has become the destination of choice for over 60% cent of people living in the catchment. “The continuing interest from retailers and F&B operators to be in Bracknell shows the appeal of the new and affluent customers attracted to the much improved town centre,” he added.
