Karl Lagerfeld has launched a new capsule collection for his namesake brand. The range of accessories and casual wear takes up the theme of photography, by replicating cameras but also using the designer’s own images, mostly selfies and his cat Choupette.

Lagerfeld often mentions in interviews that photography is a big part of his life. And recently he was invited as guest of honor for the 21st edition of the world's top photography fair, Paris Photo, taking place this November. In 2015, the Pinacothèque de Paris also hosted a solo exhibition of Lagerfeld’s photography.

The designer is constantly documenting his artistic and fashion projects, taking his own photos of all the campaigns for his for Chanel and Fendi collections, and any of his artistic projects, books, exhibitions etc. So it was only a question of time that he would create a collection that pays tribute to his obsession with photos.

The collection consists of silk shirts, bomber jackets, tote bags, t-shirts and jeans all emblazoned with photos or playful illustrations of the designer and his cat, and everything in Lagerfelds’s personal signature colors of white, black, gray and with silver elements and few flashes of red. Some collection pieces are done in the shape of a camera, such as a key chain and a glittery miniaudiere bag, or the leather camera crossbody bag. The collection is already available online and in all Karl Lagerfeld stores.
