The company agreed a deal with private equity real estate fund manager Clearbell Capital for the facilities at Parkway Works on Kettebridge Road, and will pay £750,000 annual rent.

The global distribution centre comes years after a decision to outsource the company’s warehouse operations led to multi-million pound losses in financial 2015.

Since then, Jack Wills has brought distribution back in house and refinanced the business under the leadership of co-founder Peter Williams. In the year to January 2017, the company returned to profit after several years of losses with operating profits of £730,000, compared to a loss of £13.8 million a year earlier.

Jack Wills’ existing warehouse, opened in 2014, is located in Sheffield and employs over 200 people, increasing to 400 during the Christmas period.

The new distribution centre is situated close to the A57 which provides fast access to Sheffield city centre and Junction 33 of the M1.

The preppy clothing brand has more than 70 stores across the UK, including stores in London, Belfast, Cardiff, Edinburgh and Glasgow, as well as a growing presence in the US, Asia and Germany.
