Hollins was most recently the Global Product & Trading Director of Asos, the UK fashion etail giant. At HoF, she will oversee all of the Buying & Design functions across the business and bring a more consistent and defined approach to best practice in buying, design and sourcing, the company said. She will report to CEO Nigel Oddy.

Commenting on her role, Maria Hollins said: “House of Fraser has long been an integral part of the British retail landscape and I am delighted to be joining it at this exciting time. I have been impressed by the huge ambitions for the business and am looking forward to working with the team to deliver the customer the best shopping experience, in the UK and internationally.”

Hollins has also worked at Arcadia Group and Whistles.

House of Fraser also recently created another new role, Head of Sustainability, and hired Dr Dorothy Maxwell for the position.
