Hong Kong's The Hub moves downtown

Published
Apr 9, 2014

Unlike other shows tired of competing with huge trade fairs and e-commerce, The Hub is staying the course but is changing locations and reducing the number of show days. The trade fair for young, urban and creative fashion will leave the Hong Kong Asia World Expo near the airport and move to a more central location. The third edition will take place at the D2Place, located at Lai Chi Kok near Kowloon.

The Hub is focusing on creative fashion for multibrands.

The facility is a new space for business and entertainment events, industrial in its decor and situated near a harbor. The fair will be set up on two levels but will be pared down from three to two days. The show will now run Wednesday and Thursday instead of Saturday to Monday, this year on August 27–28.

The Hub trade fair sections are Contemporary, Heritage, Indigo Street and The Greenhouse. In February, the exhibitor list included Eleven Paris, Faguo, Barbour, Y-3, Denim Demon, Gola, Religion and Desigual. Given its focus on multibrands rather than just franchises, The Hub definitely has a better chance of surviving in a market where Novomania Shanghai lasted only three years.
