Hobbs welcomes new CFO

Womenswear retailer Hobbs has appointed Mehul Tank as its new CFO, starting immediately. He will take over from Simon Luscombe, who was appointed Omnichanel Trading Director earlier this year.

Mehul Tank has over 20 years of experience managing the finance and operations activities of omnichannel consumer brands across the world. He was most recently interim CEO of a private equity-owned retail business in the US and previously worked as as CFO for Mexx.

Meg Lustman, CEO of Hobbs commented: “We are delighted to welcome Mehul as our Chief Finance Officer. He joins us with a wealth of experience from a number of private equity-backed organisations in Europe and the United States, and brings valuable expertise having worked with several international retailers. The UK retailer recently launched on Germany’s Zalando marketplace, complementing its existing online site for the country. The womenswear and footwear brand has also 4 consignments in Wohrl Sinn Leffers, as well as a localised e-commerce platform for Australia.

Since its origin as a small shoe label in Hampstead, London, the company has grown into a business with 140 branches and strong trading in the UK in Ireland. It also has 14 concessions and a website in Bloomingdales in the USA.
